Someone By Your Side Through the Disability Benefits Process

Amber Holkem is a paralegal at Clarkson Pennington Law, helping Alabamians seek Social Security Disability benefits when they can’t work because of health problems. She also helps run day-to-day operations of the firm.

Amber is in training to become a lawyer. Once she completes law school, she plans to join her sister, disability attorney Abbey Clarkson, as another lawyer at our family-run Alabama disability law firm.

Amber and Abbey also work with their other sister, Allison Humphrey, who is a paralegal at Clarkson Pennington Law.

Amber began working as Abbey’s paralegal in 2015 and is her “right hand.” Amber meets with new clients, gets them signed up with the firm, and helps clients navigate the difficult process of seeking Social Security Disability.

She understands the hardships people sometimes face while waiting on benefits and is always happy to help clients explore any options available to make their lives easier.

Amber has a diverse background in customer service and office administration. Her experience working with people gives her the skills to identify clients’ needs and help them in a difficult time in their life.

She has an associate’s degree in applied science with an office administration/paralegal option and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Amber and her sisters grew up in Dekalb County as part of a large family. Now she enjoys spending time with four children of her own—Emily, Aidan, Isaac and Grayson.

She enjoys supporting her children in their extracurricular activities, which can be like having another full-time job!

Amber loves her time with friends and family, traveling, and attending concerts.

The Clarkson Pennington disability law firm helps people in Birmingham, Gadsden, North Alabama, Montgomery, the Black Belt, Mobile, the Gulf Coast, Chattanooga, across Tennessee and all of the Southeast.

Get personal attention and respect from someone who cares, like Amber, when you have to deal with the disability benefits system.
